LINNEAUS UNIVERSITY COLOUR SYSTEM - AN EXPERT SYSTEM FOR SIMULATING AND VISUALISING COLOURED GLASS


The purpose is to develop an expert system for predicting the colour of a glass product in the NCS system.

Organizing and complementation of colour samples
The work of organizing most of Glafo's colour samples in a data base is continuing. We are using a light box with various light sources in order to document the samples' colours in different light. Discussions on which parameters should be included in the data base are continuing.

Samples based on a 'new' base glass (Glasma Batch No. 40), together with new colours in existing glass systems, are being manufactured in order to complement the colour samples collection.

Wider use of results
A separate project is discussing how the results can be applied in a wider context, covering such applications as the use of float glass in buildings. A report on this will be included in the final report, and could provide the basis for future project applications.

Next step
The concluding part of the work will be to write the final report and formulate appropriate continuation projects.
