TRANSFER OF COMPETENCE TO GLASS PROCESSING INDUSTRY (PR 436) - finished in 2000

A new potential Swedish market for Glafo could be the glass processing industry and non-traditional glass producers, for example those processing flat glass or those in the field of laboratory/medicine.

Training and technical support
There is an interest for training and technical support within certain areas. During year 2000, there are plans to:
- further investigate the interest among 24 companies by inquiry and visits
- develop five training modules for glass processing industry and non-traditional glass producers
- arrange five seminars

Training areas and seminars
Areas of interest are:
- general knowledge on glass
- stresses/annealing
- furnaces
- glass defects
- environment aspects.

During the second year of the project, three training modules will be developed, and seminars will be held on non-traditional Glafo topics, such as for example hardening, surface coating, and decoration.
